FRANCESCA’S INSPIRATION AND VISION
Since ancient times skilled Master Jewellers made Italy one of the most relevant places for Jewellery: creativity and craftsmanship are the essential elements for a beautiful and meaningful Piece of Jewellery as every other Piece of Art.
With Italian culture in her veins, classical studies and a deep passion for Art, Award Winning Francesca Marcenaro gives space to her imagination creating her little wearable sculptures that reveal also her love for Nature and Fairy Tales.
Francesca’s vision of Jewellery is to create something unique for each person: a special little thing in silver can be more precious (emotionally and artistically speaking ) than an expensive, but cold, solitaire.
Francesca thinks that the perfect recipe for a beautiful Piece of Jewellery is the balance between materials, colours, shapes, weight, dimensions and wearability, a test that every Piece must pass.
Recycling is a must.
THE USE OF STONES
For her creations Francesca uses stones as sparkling details, very rarely as the most important part of the Jewel. Every element must be complimentary without a “primadonna”!
Her favourite stones are cabochon stones and diamond-cut diamonds
all set by experienced award winner Setters in Hatton Garden in London.
DIFFERENT MATERIALS-DIFFERENT CHALLENGES
In her passionate research on new effects on the surfaces, Titanium is one of the most fascinating materials that Francesca likes to work with. The colours that Titanium can achieve are stunning and the mix with Glass Granulation “gives life” to the pieces making them particularly charming…
Despite these qualities the extreme hardness of Titanium makes the making process extremely difficult and time consuming.
Stone setting on Titanium in particular is very difficult and Francesca relies on the collaboration of experienced, trained stone setters based in Hatton Garden, London.
