Handmade jewellery is a little different from “click and ship.” When you order from Francesca Marcenaro, you’re choosing something that’s made slowly, carefully, and with intention—often created just for you. That’s why the usual turnaround time is 6-8 weeks.

Every piece starts with time at the bench (and often a lot of tiny decisions). Depending on what you’ve ordered, that can include: design and preparation, sourcing, making (shaping, assembling, setting, polishing—often in stages), finishing and quality checks

It’s not just about getting it done—it’s about making it beautiful, strong, and worthy of being worn again and again.

Many of my pieces include my signature technique, Glass Granulation. This process is especially time-intensive because it’s built from many small steps that can’t be rushed.

Glass granules need careful preparation, placement,  so they bond properly and keep their shape and sparkle. Often, it involves creating and applying details one by one, letting layers develop, and then refining everything in the finishing stage. It’s slow, precise work—and it’s also what gives the jewellery that distinctive texture and depth.

I work on multiple commissions and orders at once, and I keep my process intentionally small so each piece gets real attention. That means your jewellery is made within a queue of other clients’ pieces, all receiving the same level of care.

The 6-8 weeks window helps me protect that quality—so when it’s your turn, I can give your order the focus it deserves.

Sometimes pieces are finished sooner, and sometimes a design or material choice naturally takes a little longer. Custom work often moves in steps, and the best results come from letting each stage take the time it needs—especially when Glass Granulation is involved.
