MAGIC BERRIES
Magic Berries explores the transformation of organic forms through precious and contrasting materials.
Inspired by clusters of berries and the irregular structures found in nature, the collection combines rounded volumes, fluid lines and tactile surfaces. Forms are simplified and reinterpreted rather than reproduced literally, creating jewellery that retains an organic quality while remaining distinctly sculptural.
In selected pieces, hand-carved Whitby jet is combined with 18ct gold, creating a strong contrast between the depth of the black material and the warmth of the metal. Glass Granulation introduces a further layer of texture and light, bringing luminosity to otherwise restrained surfaces.
The collection developed from Francesca Marcenaro’s longstanding fascination with the imaginative and symbolic qualities of nature. What began as a more narrative idea has evolved into an exploration of form, contrast, rhythm and material transformation.
Each piece is individually made, allowing subtle variations in shape and surface to remain part of its character.
