Gold and Whitby Jet Ring

This asymmetrical ring balances the deep black surface of polished Whitby jet with the warmth and luminosity of gold. A cluster of fine gold and glass granules gathers around the junction between the two materials and extends irregularly across the jet, creating a tactile transition of texture and light.
The gold band curves into an open spiral, counterbalancing the rounded jet element and giving the ring a sense of continuous organic movement. Its composition changes according to the viewing angle, allowing it to be read as a small wearable sculpture.
Handcrafted by Francesca Marcenaro, the ring reflects her exploration of contrasting materials, fluid forms and tactile surfaces.
This Piece can be cast in Fairtrade metals, or in a Client’s own gold and/or stones.
