From storms to shells, from DNA to curly hair, from galaxies to pine cones, spirals are everywhere in Nature.
I’ve always been fascinated by the fluidity and the elegance of this shape: in spirals I see the magic balance between movement and stability, beauty and strength. It reminds me the charm ballerina’s pirouettes, the beauty of Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire’s performances in elegant and sophisticated surroundings.
Working with metal and stones with all this in mind pirouettes become a pair of earrings, a galaxy becomes a brooch, a storm a pendant and a shell is transformed in a precious ring.
The meaning becomes the soul of the Piece and it gives a power that will last forever. A message to give to a loved one, a memento for ourselves, something to wear not just for its amazing aesthetics, but also for its substance…
…and because I personally like to understand better what surrounds me and in particular what inspires me, I did a little research about spirals and, if you are a little interested too, here there is a bit of “technical” information:
