Vesuvio: great source of inspiration

Part of my Italian origins is in Naples, a beautiful city where Vesuvio (the local volcano), standing at over 4,000 feet tall, dominates as undisputed king over the Bay of Naples. A still-active volcano that seems dormant but is a constant reminder of its potential for destruction.

But Vesuvio is also a source of incredible beauty, from the vineyards that cover its slopes to the panoramic views from its summit that offer a breathtaking perspective of the surrounding landscape, not just the city but also the beautiful sea.

Power and beauty—what a fascinating mix!

Its presence—creating a unique atmosphere—adds a sense of urgency to life. The juxtaposition of life and destruction is a reminder of the delicate balance of nature and the raw power that lies within.

Resilience is a quality that everybody has in Naples: people are open, kind, welcoming, and warm, and also foreigners immediately find themselves as part of a community where they feel immediately at home!

Since I was young, the majesty and the charm of this volcano have tickled my imagination, and I have always liked to imagine that it was inhabited by beautiful and powerful fairies. My love for jewels then led me to imagine that the fairies had beautiful jewels, made with what the volcano offered them.

This is how the “Volcanic Treasure” collection was born; the little girl who lives inside me continued to dream and brought the jewels of fairy tales into reality.
