Volcanic Treasure explores the tension between raw, mineral surfaces and the presence of light.
Oxidised silver is shaped into irregular, cratered forms, creating dark surfaces from which Glass Granulation, stones and polished details emerge.
The contrast between luminosity and oxidation gives each piece a sense of movement and depth, as if the material were still undergoing transformation.
The collection reflects Francesca Marcenaro’s ongoing interest in geological structures and in the way surface can alter the perception of form.
Rather than reproducing nature literally, the work draws from erosion, mineral deposits and volcanic landscapes to create tactile, sculptural jewellery.
